My Main Muses: Photographing my own family

I photograph my family the whole time and pretty much everything that we do. But it’s very rare that I actually do a formal shoot with my family and purposely dress up the kids. So I used my brother and sister in laws trip to Los Angeles as the perfect excuse to go play with the light under Washington Pier. Zac and my niece Rosie stayed clean and dry for all of two seconds but both loved being the centre of attention. As you can see I’m blessed with a super photogenic family! I even got in front of the camera myself which I never do. Good thing I’m good at photoshop!

Venice Beach Family Photo Shoot

Most of the family photography shoots I do are 2-4 hours. Allowing time for the little people to get comfortable with the camera and the parents and I to connect. So when Sophia asked me to photograph her family for half an hour during sunset I was a little unsure. But luckily for me, their little girl Charlotte was delighted to be on the beach and the light in Los Angeles at this time of year is incredible. So the hard work was done for me . So the good news is, that on the back of the success of this shoot, I’m now offering 45 minute shoots on Venice Beach and in the Playa Del Rey to Santa Monica area. Please get in touch for my rates if you are interested.
